The KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Arts and Culture Department (DAC) will be hosting a Career Expo and Arts Exhibition at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre tomorrow, 25 June 2015. Around 600 learners who have art as a subject in high schools and further edication and training colleges in the Ugu District are expected to attend.
The event aims to expose the students to possible career paths that the arts industry has to offer as well as to advise them on the critical skills needed in the fields they want to enter.
Exhibitors include the Department’s language, museum and library services as well as our arts development units, the Centre for Creative Arts, the National Youth Development Agency, KZN Film Commission, the provincial Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, the province’s Central Applications Office as well as Durban University of Technology (DUT) and University of KwaZulu-Natal's (UKZN) art faculties.
KZN DAC’s HOD Mrs Sibongile Nzimande is expected to deliver the keynote address. There will also be speakers from various fields in the arts sector as well as performances by local artists.
