The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation, Ntombikayise Sibhidla-Saphetha will be handing over music instruments to the youth of KwaNgcolosi, north of Durban tomorrow.
The event will take place at Wushwini Arts Centre in KwaNgcolosi, near Hilcrest.
This initiative forms part of the Department of Arts and Culture programme to help young people realise their potential by channeling their creativity towards constructive and productive activities. The programme also plays a critical role in addressing youth unemployment.
Schools in the area that offer music as part of curriculum will benefit from the initiative as they will be able to send leaners to the art centre to practice what they learn at school.
