Invitation to attend the public consultation meeting in preparation of the 18th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES)
The Conference of Parties (CoP) to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) meets every three years to assess the implementation of the Convention through, among others, the consideration of various reports, and to make recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the Convention, as well as proposals to amend the Appendices.
In preparation for the 18th meeting of the Conference of Parties to CITES, which will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from 23 May to 3 June 2019, the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) hereby invites you to participate in the first consultative meeting in order to ensure that your opinions and concerns are considered as we move forward into the next CoP in any aspect of CITES.
