The National Department of Environmental Affairs’ (DEA) Working on Fire programme in partnership with provincial and city fire authorities will today, 17 March 2015, honour the 250 fire fighters from the programme’s Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, North West and the Free State provinces.
These 250 fire fighters worked tirelessly over the past 2 weeks alongside the 800 and more Working on Fire Western Cape fire fighters to successfully supress the recent devastating wildfires in the province.
Minister of Environmental Affairs, Ms Edna Molewa, will be the guest speaker at the event.
