Deputy Minister Mcebisi Skwatsha visits Mahlohomolo Project and Bela Bela Communal Property Association in Bela-Bela, 21 Nov

Deputy Minister Mcebisi Skwatsha to visit Waterberg District Farmers and the Bela-Bela Communal Property Association in Limpopo Province

Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Mr Mcebisi Skwatsha will on Thursday 21 November 2019 visit the Mahlohomolo Project and Bela Bela Communal Property Association in Bonwaphala within Waterberg district Municipality, in Bela Bela, Limpopo Province and hand over implements to farmers.

The visit forms part of the Build-up activities towards the Waterberg Presidential District Development Program-Khawuleza.

In June 2019 during the State of the Nation Address, President Cyril Ramaphosa stated that the Council’s agenda would be refocused to sharpen and strengthen cooperative governance and implement a well-coordinated and coherent national programme of action, in a form of The Khawuleza District Coordination Service Delivery Model. The model seeks to secure maximum coordination and cooperation among the national, provincial and local spheres of government, who will act in partnership with civil society including communities, business and labour at the district level countrywide.

The Khawuleza District Coordination Model was initially launched at Ingquza Local Municipality and followed by Ethekwini Metropolitan Municipality and proceeds to Waterberg District.

The Deputy Minister will host a stakeholder engagement with farmers from the district and the Bela-Bela CPA Beneficiaries on service delivery issues. In line with the planting season, farmers will also receive farming implements.
