Health Ministry to visit Townhill Hospital in Pietermaritzburg
Journalists are invited to join the Deputy Minister of Health Dr Gwen Ramokgopa in her visit to Townhill Psychiatric Hospital in Pietermaritzburg to assess service delivery status in a bid to ensure government attains its aim of achieving a healthier nation where people will live longer and suffer less illness.

Government has tried its utmost since 1994 to ensure that everyone in this country has healthcare.
Hence the aim of this visit will be to assess the service delivery status and identify problems that could hinder this process and craft a strategy to solve and prevent such problems. Townhill Hospital is a specialised psychiatric facility that offers specialised services.
The visiting team will interact with health workers, facility management, patients, community members and other stakeholders in an effort to understand the level of service delivery, successes in terms of implementation of programmes and the challenges faced by the facility and patients.
