The Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature will hold its Portfolio Committee meetings this week, starting on Tuesday, 13 March 2012.
Items to be discussed in these committee meetings include provincial department’s programme of action for 2012/13 financial year and progress on the implementation of House resolutions. The departments are thereby subjected to account to the Portfolio Committees as the Provincial Legislature has a constitutional obligation to exercise oversight role on all organs of state.
