The Premier of the Province of KwaZulu-Natal Dr Zweli Mkhize has expressed his appreciation to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, the African Union Commission, the African Development Bank and the South African government for organising a watershed conference which has brought to KwaZulu-Natal more than 40 African ministers responsible for Civil Registration and Vital statistics.
“We are also privileged as the province of KwaZulu-Natal that we have been given the opportunity to host a dinner in honour of the ministers. This will be a networking dinner enabling us to discuss issues of mutual interests. We want to further strengthen neighbourly relations between ourselves as the people of KwaZulu-Natal and other Africans all over the continent.”
“We have invited representatives from government, civil society and a broad range of organisations including academic institutions and big business. As government we believe that as part of our search for solutions for Africa we need to encourage twinning of cities, provinces and academic institutions and partnership amongst the business fraternity.”
