The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment to host Waste-to-Energy and Circular Workshop in Mogale City, Gauteng

The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE), in partnership with Mogale City Municipality will host the Waste-to-Energy and Circular Economy Workshop from 7 – 8 March 2024, at the Avianto Hotel in Mogale City.

The Workshop brings together policy makers, industrialists, business, informal waste management entrepreneurs, product developers and inventors to share information and developments within the waste-to-energy environment. This includes promoting various forms of energy from waste, enhancing the circular economy, and discussing sustainable and safer ways of managing infectious waste.

DFFE has issued licenses to several municipalities and some private companies to ensure that investment opportunities and initiatives are created to produce energy from waste. Mogale City is one of the municipalities that was chosen to showcase the effectiveness and efficiency of the policy instrument developed by DFFE.
