Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu, together with the KwaZulu-Natal government led by Premier, Dr Zweli Mkhize, will host British royalty, Prince Charles.
The Prince of Wales, Prince Charles’s visit comes as the province readies itself to host the international community in the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) conference to be held in Durban later this month.
The Prince is known for his love for nature and wildlife and he is expected to visit Phinda Game Reserve where he will be able to see black rhinos. This visit to the game reserve will boost King Goodwill Zwelithini’s campaign against rhino poaching.
Said Dr Zweli Mkhize: “Over the years, His Majesty has played host to a number of heads of states, Princes and members of royal families from across the world. In the process, His Majesty has assisted in terms of marketing KwaZulu-Natal to the international community.
Prince Charles’s visit is a reaffirmation of His Majesty’s influence and respect he commands from across the globe.”
Amabutho and various dignitaries will be with King Goodwill Zwelithini when he receives Prince Charles at his Ondini Palace.
