Behavioural change programme

The MEC for Arts Culture, Sport and Recreation, Ntombikayise Sibhidla-Saphetha will be launching a behavioural change programme for learners with a well known actress Leleti Khumalo in Groutville, northern KwaZulu-Natal tomorrow.

The Leleti School Grounds Programme seeks to educate learners through sport on various issues ranging from teenage pregnancy, drugs and alcohol abuse, environmental and HIV and AIDS.

Before the launch, the MEC, as a champion for Ilembe District under Sukuma Sakhe Programme, will visit a local clinic in ward10 where she will be meeting with community caregivers, non-governmental organisation’s and councillors to resolve service delivery challenges in the ward. She will also visit needy families in the area to establish what intervention the government can make to assist them.

At the launch, the MEC will hand over sports equipment to 10 schools in the area.
