The MEC for Department of Community Safety, Advocate Lennit Max, will start the first leg of the department's roadshow (August to November) for community safety structures in the Cape Winelands and the Overberg.
The MEC will be accompanied by representatives from South African Police Services (SAPS), the community policing forum (CPF) board and Business against Crime (BAC). Advocate Max said: “The Department of Community Safety will make sure that strong and healthy partnerships exist between the police and the community they serve. The CPF and neighbourhood watch must be the eyes and ears of the police in every community in the province. In this way we will combat crime effectively and create safer communities, without the fear of crime.
