The repealed Remuneration of Town Clerks Act 115 of 1984 intended:
- to provide for the determination of the remuneration and certain other service benefits of the chief executive officers of local authorities;
- to regulate the maximum limits of the remuneration and certain other service benefits of other employees of local authorities; and
- to provide for incidental matters.
