The Registration of Newspapers Amendment Act 98 of 1982 intends:
- to make new provision for the registration of newspapers and for that purpose to amend the Newspaper and Imprint Registration Act, 1971 [repealed in March 1994], and the Publications Act, 1974 [repealed in June 1998]; and
- to provide for matters connected therewith.
