66 of 2002

The Intelligence Services Control Amendment Act 66 of 2002 intends:

  • to amend the Intelligence Services Control Act, 1994, so as:
    • to define an expression and to amend certain definitions;
    • to reregulate the oversight functions of the Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence;
    • to provide that only one Inspector-General of Intelligence may be appointed and to reregulate the functions of the Inspector-General;
    • to provide for the appointment of personnel to the office of the Inspector-General;
    • to extend the power of the Minister to make regulations; and
    • to change the name of the Act; and
  • to provide for matters connected therewith.
