Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) to the rescue

Beneficiaries for all benefit types such as unemployment, illness, maternity, and dependants benefits, from all corners of the Limpopo Province have all the reasons to smile about this festive season. This after over R21 000 000 were paid as benefits to the respective applicants during the month of November.

According to Ronet Landman, Deputy Director of Beneficiary Services in Limpopo Provincial office, 11 821 payment to the value of R21 426 794 were made. “We received 5 313 applicants and approved 4 813 for commercial sector and received 70 and approved 63 for the domestic sector,” Landman says.

Landman further states that only 2 applications from the taxi industry were received and approved. “There reason why other applications were declined would vary from one application to the other. Some of the reasons would be that the applicants do not apply within 6 months from date of termination, UI19 declarations not submitted by employers or Credit days exhausted (beneficiaries claimed previously during the four year cycle),” Landman highlighted.
