Following an assessment of the work of government towards the realisation of
the mid-term strategic goals as enunciated in the African National Congress
(ANC) Election Manifesto of 2004, the Premier, Thabang Makwetla wishes to
express his satisfaction with the work the Provincial Executive Council has
been able to achieve. The Premier once again takes this opportunity to commend
Members of the Executive Council and all government officials for the work done
to improve the conditions of life of the people of the province.
The Province is committed to continuing with provision of water and standard
sanitation to the many deprived communities to increase further access to
education and health including creating opportunities for providing income to
the multitudes of people who live in our province.
To further improve the acceleration of this work the following changes have
been effected in the Executive Council:

* Mr David Mabuza � MEC Roads and Transport
* Mr Jabu Mahlangu � MEC Culture, Sport and Recreation
* Mr Madala Masuku � MEC Public Works
The Premier wishes to take this opportunity to thank the Members of the
Executive Council who have been redeployed for the loyalty and integrity with
which they served the provincial administration and he wishes them well in
their new responsibilities.
