North West Legislature hosts Women and Traditional Leaders Sectoral Parliament, 19 Aug

On Friday, 19 August 2016, the Speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature, Hon. Susan Dantjie, will host a Women and Traditional Leaders Sectoral Parliament under the theme: “Women uniting a nation in pursuit for cohesion, equality and food security” in the Legislature Chamber at 9h00.

The event aims to provide a platform for women and leaders of government to engage on pertinent issues facing the women of today regarding their take on food security, inequality an the role of customary legislation on their endeavored development and the role of women in uniting the nation after elections.

It also aims to develop a discussion document that will guide the debates in the Legislature House and guide the amendments to the socio-economic policies of the North West Province.

The event will be attended by Members of the Legislature, MEC for the Department of Local Government and Human Settlements and Acting MEC for the Department of Social Development, Fenny Gaolaolwe; MEC for the Department of Finance, Economy and Enterprise Development, Wendy Nelson; MEC for Rural, Environment and Agricultural Development, Manketse Tlhape; women traditional leaders in four districts of the North West province; House of Traditional Leaders, and the Gender Desk in the Department of Social Development and Office of the Premier.
