Western Cape tourism sector honoured at national awards
The Western Cape’s leading tourism establishments have scooped top honours at the national tourism awards.
Sixteen establishments won national awards at the Lilizela Awards, held in Sandton last night (16 October 2016).
Alan Winde, Minister of Economic Opportunities, congratulated the winners.
“Once again our province has performed well at the national awards. I’d like to commend the winners for their efforts in cementing the Western Cape as one of the world’s most popular visitor destinations. We have won awards in a range of categories, including best tour operator and tourist guide. These entrepreneurs are great ambassadors for our sector.
“Through Project Khulisa it is our goal to grow the size of the tourism sector. Establishments like these, which set the standard for service excellence, will be important partners in making this happen. “
