Western Cape launches initiative to educate children across the country on caring for our environment
In celebration of Arbour Day, Economic Opportunities Minister Alan Winde will launch a multi-lingual booklet educating children on caring for the environment.
On Monday, 5 September, Minister Winde will present the Soil Blanket booklet during a launch at the Sustainability Institute.
Developed by the Western Cape Department of Agriculture, the booklet forms part of the Landcare programme and outlines the importance of soil to sustain life on earth.
To be distributed across the country, it will be published in Afrikaans, English and isiXhosa. The booklet will be made available to pupils between Grade 5 and Grade 7.
