WC's top entrepreneurs to take centre stage at youth focused First Thursday
As part of his Youth month programme, Alan Winde, Minister of Economic Opportunities, will host some of the city’s most successful young entrepreneurs this First Thursday.
On Thursday (2 June 2016), speakers such as Luvuyo Rani, the owner of Silulo Ulutho Technologies, and Byron Booysen, leading agri-entrepreneur, will address the event. Katlego Maphai, Yoco co-founder and CEO, will attend and join Minister Winde for a lucky draw. During this draw, two of the entrepreneurs operating from the kiosks in Long Street will be selected to receive Yoco credit card machine readers.
Students from the Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute will also showcase their wine and brandy.
Minister Winde said: “We’re participating in the First Thursdays initiative as part of our goal to become the most accessible government office in South Africa. All residents are welcome to attend, but this month I’d like to especially appeal to young aspiring entrepreneurs to join us.
Some of the Western Cape’s foremost entrepreneurs will be here to share their success stories and I am confident their experiences will serve as inspiration for our province’s budding businesspeople,” said Minister Winde.
