Water and Sanitation wishes to caution patrons attending Mangaung Cultural Festival

Macufe patrons requested to use water sparingly

The Department Water and Sanitation (DWS) wishes to caution patrons attending the Mangaung Cultural Festival, famously known as Macufe, not to waste water as the drought is still plaguing the country.

DWS therefore requests all Macufe attendees to use water sparingly by observing the following water saving tips:

  • Use a bucket to wash cars instead of a hosepipe
  • Take a five minutes shower instead of a bath
  • Do not fill up swimming pools
  • Refrain from throwing one another with water for leisure

To report water wastage (or for more information on water saving tips) please contact the DWS toll-free hotline number: 0800 200 200; email info@dws.gov.za; or send an sms to 45174. The Hotline Centre operates from 6 am to 10 pm during weekdays and 8am to 4pm on weekends.
