Water and Sanitation hosts workshop to assess progress of Sustainable Development Goals on water and sanitation, 23 to 24 Feb

DWS to host a two-day workshop to assess progress of Sustainable Development Goals on water and sanitation 

Water and Sanitation Department Deputy Ministers, Mr David Mahlobo and Ms Dikeledi Magadzi will lead a two-day Midterm Review workshop on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which focus on water and sanitation ahead of the United Nations (UN) Water Conference next month. 

The workshop will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, 23-24 February 2023 at Southern Sun Hotel in Pretoria and is aimed at assessing the status on SDG6 which call for clean water and sanitation for all by 2030 and beyond. It will also unpack opportunities to overcome challenges and accelerate delivery of SDGs focusing on water and sanitation. 

Topics which will come under the spotlight include the quality of drinking water in South Africa, the impact of Climate Change on water security, integrated water resource management as well as safe sanitation and hygiene.
