Water and Sanitation hosts a drought intervention and management workshop, 24 to 25 Nov

Workshop to discuss drought interventions in KZN

The Department of Water and Sanitation in KwaZulu-Natal will host the Second Inter-Provincial Peer Learning Workshop for Drought Intervention and Management from 24 to 25 November 2016 at Public Works Conference Centre Mayville, Durban.

The aim of the workshop is to provide a platform for sharing and learning best practices on how the Province is responding to the drought situation. This includes the short and long term intervention measures that have been implemented in addressing the scourge of drought in an effort to undertake and improve water demand management.

KwaZulu-Natal was the first province to declare drought in affected areas and is seen to be the province which is at an advanced stage in terms of drought intervention and management. The Department will jointly host the workshop together with the provincial Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs.
