The efforts by the government to bring services closer to the communities are bearing the desired fruits. The official opening of the Botleng Thusong Service Centre in Delmas, Victor Khanye Local Municipality, scheduled for Friday, attests to this.
The centre is one of the established 24 in Mpumalanga that will bring together government services to the local community. The centre will be located in Botleng next to the Sports Centre, and is the outcome of the Public Private Partnership between the local municipality and the Leeuwpan Mine.
Apart from the government services, the centre will also provide the local community with access to technology, such as the internet search facilities. Thirty (30) temporary job opportunities, such as bricklaying, plumbing, erecting of concrete palisade and electrical services were created during the construction phase.
The official opening of the TSC will be marked by an official address by the the Executive Mayor, Cllr Eva Makhabane with the local community in attendance.
