The number of candidates to sit the 2023 end of year examinations
On 13 October 2023 Umalusi held a media briefing to pronounce on the State of Readiness of the public and private assessment bodies to conduct, administer and manage the 2023 end of year national examinations. On the basis of the audit outcomes, Umalusi has declared that the system is largely ready to conduct, administer and manage the 2023 end of year national examinations.
At the time of the media briefing on 13 October 2023, some of the assessment bodies were still busy finalising their candidate numbers. Taking the revised figures into account, the 2023 end of year examinations will be administered to approximately 1.2 million candidates distributed as follows.
