Transport Minister brings hope to North West schools
International Nelson Mandela Day is celebrated worldwide on 18 July annually to keep alive the values of one of the greatest statesmen to ever live: Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.
During this day people are encouraged to dedicate 67 minutes of their time to promote the spirit of volunteerism.
The Minister of Transport, Ms. Dipuo Peters, the MEC for Public Works and Roads in the North West Province, Mr Madoda Sambatha and the Mayor of Kagiso-Molopo local municipality, Cllr Veronica Kekesi will celebrate this day, as part of the 67 minutes dedication to humanitarianism together with the communities of Bray, Ebenezer and Tosca in the North West Province.
Minister Peters, MEC Sambatha and Cllr Kekesi will start the day at the Bray Combined School where they will engage with and donate a variety of items to the learners and then proceed to the Ebenezer Primary School where a complete refurbishment of the school library will take place including the installation of new shelves and the donation of books and shoes. Transport entities will also be having career exhibitions for the learners.
Later, the Minister will have an engagement with members of the public and transport stakeholders at the Tosca Community Hall in the Kagisano-Molopo Local Municipality.
