Tour of Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology projects in Gauteng

The media is invited to a tour of projects in Gauteng which demonstrate hydrogen fuel cell technologies as alternative energy solutions to South Africa.

In 2007, government approved the National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Research, Development and Innovation Strategy (HySA Strategy) to enable the development of high-value commercial products in the sector, through beneficiating the country’s platinum group metal resources.

This South African innovation contributes to international innovation through technology commercialisation while capturing 25% of the market, which translates to R1.37 billion in 2020.
