Status update on the Nuclear New Build Programme
The Department of Energy will on Tuesday, 14 July 2014 hold a press briefing following the submission of the Inter-Government Framework Agreements on nuclear cooperation to Parliament. As you may know that the department has taken a decision to expand the nuclear built programme in line with the approved Integrated Resource Plan (IRP2010-30). To realise this policy imperative, the preparation for the rollout of this programme has reached an advanced stage.
The press briefing will be addressed by senior government officials as well as senior State Owned Entities (SoE) officials involved in the preparations for the nuclear new build programme. The pre-procurement process which included the Nuclear Vendor Parade (NVP) workshops has been finalised in March 2015.
