Statistician-General to release reports on Recorded live births, 2013-2015 and Perinatal deaths, 2014

The Statistician-General of South Africa, Dr Pali Lehohla, will release reports on Recorded live births, 2013-2015 and Perinatal deaths, 2014 at a media briefing to be held on Thursday, 27 October 2016 in Pretoria. The recorded live births statistical release presents information on recorded live births in South Africa, based on data from the national birth registration system. It also presents data on the number of registered live births, number of live births by age of the mother, and birth registration trends between 1993 and 2015, amongst others.

The statistical release on Perinatal deaths presents information on trends in perinatal deaths over an 18-year period by selected demographic, social and geographic characteristics. Information on the underlying causes of perinatal deaths that occurred in 2014 will also be presented.
