Stage set for North West State of the Province Address
The Premier of the North West Province, Prof Tebogo Job Mokgoro will on Friday, 15th February 2019, deliver the 5th Administration’s last State of the Province Address (SOPA) during the official Opening of the North West Provincial Legislature (NWPL). The ceremony which will be held at the Mmabatho Stadium in Mahikeng, will start at 09h00.
Dubbed “Following up on our commitment – Making your future work better”, the ceremony will be attended by guests and stakeholders including Members of the Provincial Legislature, members of the Provincial House of Traditional Leaders, Religious Leaders, private sector representatives, invited local community structures and the media.
Central to Premier Mokgoro’s State of the Province Address will be the extent to which the provincial government is implementing radical economic transformation initiatives, this in a bid to achieve the fundamental objectives outlined in the National Development Plan (NDP).
This way, the Premier is expected to highlight collaborative efforts to improve delivery of basic services to the community, as well as initiatives aimed at boosting the province’s investable social and economic infrastructure projects.
The SOPA will be broadcast live on all North West based radio stations and Television, and will be streamed live on various social media and digital platforms.
Members of the media who have applied for accreditation for SOPA coverage, are expected to attend a compulsory media briefing which will be held on Thursday, 14 February at the Mmabatho Stadium, from 15h30.
