The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Sport and Recreation, Ms Beauty Dlulane, wishes to congratulate Team South Africa for the spectacular performance at the Rio Paralympic Games.
The Committee is proud of the overall performance of Team South Africa, which finished 22nd on the overall medals table, winning 17 medals. “Team South Africa won seven gold, six silver and four bronze medals, which is a huge achievement for the country. These athletes continue to make South Africans proud,” said Ms Dlulane.
The Committee would like to congratulate gold medalists Dyan Buis (who also won a bronze), Kevin Paul, Charl du Toit, Ernst van Dyk, Reinhardt Hamman and Hilton Langenhoven, who is also a silver medal winner. The Committee would also like to congratulate silver medalists Ilse Hayes, Anrune Liebenberg, Ndodomzi ‘Jonathan’ Ntutu, and Ntando Mahlangu, and bronze medalists Zanele Situ, Tyrone Pillay and Fanie van der Merwe.
