Mpumalanga MEC for Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs Mr Vusi Shongwe to address a Special Sitting of Traditional Leaders in Mpumalanga
MEC for Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs (DARDLEA) in Mpumalanga, Mr Vusi Shongwe will adress a special sitting of the Mpumalanga House of Traditional Leaders (MPHTL), with a focus on the department’s support for farmers and efforts to stop stock theft. The special sitting will be attended by Traditional Leaders from across the province.
DARDLEA introduced Masibuyel’ Esibayeni project in which communities with keen interest in livestock farming are provided with cattle in an effort to promote cattle farming as part of food security. Traditional Leaders were also provided with the cattle in an effort to promote farming in tribal areas. Mr Shongwe’s address will also focus on efforts to combat stock theft and land invasion as it threatens farming and food security in the province.
