Top Chef Lorna Maseko Infuses Mexican Fiesta with South African Flavours at Freedom Park
On Sunday 18 September Lorna Maseko, food enthusiast and ‘Top Chef’ presenter, is set to host a Mexican Fiesta infused with uniquely South African flavours at Freedom Park in Pretoria as part of the heritage month celebrations. Lorna will be accompanied by world-class sous chef, Orli Del Angel, from Quintonil restaurant in Mexico, which was recently ranked number 12 on the San Pellegrino List of the World’s Best 50 Restaurants.
‘Cooking with Lorna and Friends’ in partnership with Gauteng Tourism and Freedom Park promise that 18 September will be a taste bud teasing and mouth-watering day for the whole family!
Guests are invited to experiment with Mexican cuisine and adopt a few, simple cooking techniques to create dishes with a bite, healthy ingredients and harmonious flavours which the whole family will love. Adults are welcome to excite their taste buds with an exceptional wine-tasting experience as well as a variety of food stalls offering different cuisines and dishes.
Traditional South African entertainment and Mexican dancers and jazz band, ‘Jazz Essay’ will undoubtedly have feet tapping. The potential child star chefs will be able to indulge their creative sides at the ‘build a burger’ stand and have fun while getting their face painted or playing games.
