Statement on social media accounts impersonating the Minister of Transport
The Ministry of Transport wishes to unequivocally distance itself from rogue social media accounts that are fraudulently impersonating the Minister of Transport, Ms Dipuo Peters.
Through several public complaints, it has come to the Ministry’s attention that illicit and unauthorised criminal activities are being perpetrated using the Minister’s profile and image on social media.
We urge the public to note that the Minister will never solicit funding or conduct business transactions of any kind on social media platforms.
The Minister and the Department of Transport’s social media accounts are committed to sharing information on government programmes and interacting with the public in good faith, any attempt to do otherwise must be condemned and reported immediately.
