The Minister of Labour Mildred Oliphant will address the inaugural Essential Services Committee (ESC) Social Dialogue
The Minister of Labour will deliver a keynote address to the inaugural ESC Social Dialogue Conference under the theme: “Balancing the Right to Life and the Right to Strike”. This inaugural conference is convened against the backdrop of recent legislative changes in the labour law environment that seeks to improve the level of compliance in those services designated as essential.
The conference will be attended by drawn from a cross section of sectors such as organised labour, organised business, public sector representative organisations, nongovernmental organisations, community based organisations and international guests. The conference will culminate on the signing of an essential services compliance pledge to underscore the importance and significance of compliance with essential services legislation, regulation and designations.
