Mineral Resources Minister Mr Mosebenzi Zwane (MP) will on Thursday, 23 June 2016 handover SLP projects, including the Port Dunford Thusong Centre and houses, as part of commitments by Richards Bay Minerals, in line with its mining right.
The handover will take place in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal.
An SLP is a pre-requisite for the granting of mining or production rights under the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA).
The Thusong Centre will enable surrounding communities to access social and commercial services. The following entities are expected to be among those that will occupy the centre - SASSA, Home Affairs, SAPS Satellite, a public library and an early childhood development centre.
Members of the media are invited to join Minister Zwane as he hands over the projects.
