North West engages with community members through Setsokotsane Operation Centre, 14 Sept

A call for communities to engage MECs through Setsokotsane Operation Centre

Efforts by the Bokone Bophirima Provincial Government to bridge communication gaps between the province’s leadership and its citizenry will again take a further step forward, as Members of Executive Council (MECs) will tomorrow, Wednesday, 14 September 2016, take calls and respond to issues raised by community members through the recently launched Setsokotsane Operation Centre.

This will be the second round of this direct citizen participation exercise, following the Provincial Executive Council (EXCO)’s resolve to beef up the province’s endeavour to become a people-oriented and responsive government.

In carrying out this resolve, all MECs will set aside one hour, from 7h30 to 8h30 in the morning, every second Wednesday of each month, to engage communities on service delivery issues.

Calls for departments whose MECs are accompanying Premier Supra Mahumapelo to China, will tomorrow be responded to by their respective Heads of Departments.

Last month’s first engagement with community members registered just over 50 service delivery calls, which MECs were able to respond to.

Setsokotsane Operation Centre is one of the communication platforms the fifth Administration introduced as a way of affording citizens of Bokone Bophirima the opportunity to raise service delivery issues at any time, this with the view to eventually promote comprehensive, quality, effective and efficient delivery of services that contributes to a self-reliant society.

The centre operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and its toll free number is 0800 111 700.
