North West MECs engage communities through Setsokotsane Operation Centre, 12 Apr

The Bokone-Bophirima Provincial Government will in its concerted effort to pursue and strengthen public communication, host Members of Executive Council (MECs) on Wednesday, 12 April 2017, for a one-hour long telephonic engagement with communities on service delivery issues.

To be hosted through the toll-free Setsokotsane Operation Centre, the engagement will allow residents of Bokone-Bophirima to raise service delivery complaints, suggestions and compliments with the MECs responsible for different provincial departments.

The Bokone-Bophirima Executive Council had last year resolved to promote active citizenry and strengthen development, democracy and accountability by ensuring that MECs set aside an hour, every second Wednesday of the month, to take calls from members of the public through the Setsokotsane Operation Centre. This week’s interaction will be the first for the current and new financial year.

The Setsokotsane Operation Centre public engagement platform was introduced and launched last year in July by Premier Supra Mahumapelo,  this with a view to bridge the communication gap between the provincial government and members of the community.

To this end, members of the community have embraced this initiative and lauded it as a responsive platform to facilitate and address service delivery issues.

Members of Executive Council will take calls from 07h30 until 08h30 on Wednesday, 12 April, and the public is encouraged to take advantage of this platform.

The Setsokotsane Operation Centre which its Head Office is in Mahikeng, operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and its toll free number is 0800 111 700.
