Free State Arts and Culture hosts third Annual Literary Symposium, 8 to 9 Sept

Sesotho Literary Museum to host third SLM Annual Literary Symposium

Sesotho Literary Museum(SLM), of the Museum Services Sub-Directorate, under the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, will be hosting the SLM 3rd Annual Literary Symposium on 8-9 September 2016, at The Civic Theatre in Bloemfontein, under the theme: "Reading the Past, Writing the Future" –“Ho bala tsa Maobane, Ho ngola tsa Kamoso”.

This takes place at the time when the Sesotho Literary Museum is celebrating 10 years of existence, taking stock of the milestones achieved since 2006, and focusing on strengthening the institution to achieve more.

Day 1 will deal with panel discussions, open mic for poetry rendition, Dithoko and Diboko, speed reading session and a keynote address by Prof Thapelo Selepe. Day 2 there will be a Nation Building session discussing the importance of National symbols, as well as showcasing the Sesotho Choral music composition of the late Mr. Mabuti Simon Setai during our “Books Meet Music” exhibition.

The DSACR Choir will present songs from Ntate Setai’s repertoire, with the keynote address presented by the music guru, Mr Bonisile Gcisa. SLM 3rd Annual Literary Symposium, will be hosted as follows:
