Telecommunications and Postal Services holds memorial lecture in honour of late Dr Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri, 29 Apr

The Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services will hold the second memorial lecture in honour of the late Dr Ivy Matsepe-Cassaburi, the former Minister of Communications.

The annual memorial lectures are meant to create space for our youth, today’s key players in the Information and communications technology (ICT) and broadcasting sectors to appreciate the vision, the principles and the thought leadership that the late Dr Ivy Matsepe- Cassaburi provided. 

During these lectures it is expected that speakers unpack her immense contribution towards the liberation of South Africa. The theme for the lecture will be Thought Leadership Today for a Digitized Tomorrow”.

The 2016 lecture will be given by His Excellency Premier of the Free State Province, Hon. Ace Magashule. Also in attendance there will be family members, local veterans in the ICT sector, captains of industry, ICT entrepreneurs, women in ICT structures, councillors, mayors, members of parliament, religious groups, ministers and deputy ministers. The lecture will be open to members of the media.

The statue and calibre of Dr Ivy Matsepe- Cassaburi has many dimensions as she was also distinguished champion for gender equality and education. She was also an accomplished scholar and educationist.
