SARS offices to close at 17h00 on 14 October 2016 due to scheduled IT maintenance
South African Revenue Service (SARS) wishes to inform taxpayers that its tax and customs offices will close at 17h00 on Friday 14 October 2016 due to a substantial IT system upgrade and maintenance.
But to minimise disruptions SARS employees in all branches throughout the country will be available to assist taxpayers until 17h00. As a result, SARS wishes to advise taxpayers to visit SARS branches before 15h00.
Taxpayers, traders and the general public are asked to take note that due to the IT system upgrade and maintenance eFiling will also be intermittently unavailable from 17h00 until 21h30 on the 14 October 2016.
As Tax Season is currently in full swing, every effort will be made to assist taxpayers who visit SARS branches. Taxpayers, who are still in queues at our branches will, however, only be assisted until 17h00 on Friday.
We wish to apologise to all taxpayers for the inconvenience.
