North West Human Settlements on City Press article on Tlokwe Municipality

The Office of the Acting MEC Wendy Nelson who is  responsible for Local Government and Human Settlements in Bokone Bophirima Province has noted with great concern the article published in the City Press dated 3rd January 2016, page 4 titled "Opposition parties in bid to control Klokwe".

In the said article there is an indication that "The opposition councillors subsequently wrote to acting North West Local Government and Human Settlements MEC Wendy Nelson to lodge a complaint against Segotso" and further "Nelson had until December 18 to respond. However, DA  Councillor Hans Jurie Moolman said there had been no feedback from the MEC"

In tandem with the above, we wish to put it on record that, the office of the MEC did not receive such correspondence and therefore we view this as political posturing which seeks to undermine the decorum of the Office of the MEC with disdain and this published  information remains baseless.

The Office of the Acting MEC  upholds  good professional ethics at all time and therefore remain effective, efficient and responsive when dealing with issues affecting the public. We further demand that Councillor Moolman should withdraw the statement immediately and engage with the Office of the MEC in good faith.

We further wish to express our discontent with the City Press paper itself with the manner in which it has published this article without confirming with the Office as to whether the information brought to them remain valid  in observing the fundamental principle of Audi alteram partem "both side of the story be heard".
