The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Ms. Nomvula Mokonyane, has received and accepted the resignation of the Director-General of the Department of Water and Sanitation, Ms. Margaret-Ann Diedricks.
The Minister has appointed Mr. Sifiso Mkhize, currently the Chief Financial Officer of the department, to act in the position of Director-General and is committed to ensure that the due Human Resource processes are initiated to fill the vacancy arising from the resignation.
As with all senior resignations of this nature, a hand-over process will be initiated over an agreed period with the Director-General.
The Minister wishes Ms. Diedricks well in her future endeavours and has expressed her appreciation for the valuable contribution she has made as the Accounting-Officer of the department.
