Statistician-General Pali Lehohla releases report on development in rural and urban nodes, 12 May

Report on development in the rural and urban nodes between 2001 and 2011

The Statistician-General of South Africa, Dr Pali Lehohla, will release a report on development in the rural and urban nodes between 2001 and 2011, at a media briefing to be held on Thursday 12, May 2016.

The report presents the state of development in rural and urban nodes with regards to education, economic activity, living conditions, and poverty levels. These nodes are specific areas earmarked by government for accelerated development under the Sustainable Rural Development Programme (ISRDP) and the Urban Renewal Programme (URP) which were both implemented in 2001. In total, there were 26 nodes identified across the two programmes, 18 rural nodes and eight urban nodes.

The report will be released as follows:
