R1.5 million worth of drugs seized, man arrested
A 26-year-old man will appear before the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday after the Hawks nabbed him with Ephedrine worth R1.5 million soon after he landed at the OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday.
The man, who flew from India, was searched upon arrival and his luggage was found to be containing 20kg of Ephedrine. Hawks’ investigations to establish the origin of the drugs as well as the possible destination are underway.
