Public Service Commission commemorates 2018 International Anti-Corruption Day, 10 Dec

The Public Service Commission in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the University of South Africa (UNISA) will commemorate the 2018 International Anti-Corruption Day on Monday, 10 December 2018 under the theme “Working together to enhance an environment where the rule of law prevails”.

The International Anti-Corruption Day is commemorated annually on 09 December in recognition of the United Nations Convention against Corruption which was signed in Mexico in 2003. South Africa is one of the signatories to the Convention and ratified it in 2004. This day provides an opportunity for political leaders, governments, business, legal bodies and lobby groups to join forces against corruption.

The event will be addressed by amongst others, Minister for Public Service and Administration, Honorable Ayanda Dlodlo, Chairperson of the Public Service Commission, Advocate Richard Sizani, United Nations Resident Coordinator, Ms N Bekele-Thomas, Representative from the UNODC Regional Office for Southern Africa, Ms Z Akisheva, Deputy Public Protector, Advocate K Malunga, Office for Witness Protection at the National Prosecution Authority, Mr D Adam and a representative from AmaBhungane, Ms S Comrie.
