President Jacob Zuma has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of eight children who perished as a result of a fire at the Lakehaven Children's Home in Parlock, Durban in KwaZulu-Natal early this morning.
"We are very saddened by this tragic and painful loss of life and the serious injuries to other children. We convey our heartfelt condolences to all the families who are going through a most difficult period. May the injured recover well both physically and emotionally from this trauma. The provincial government is providing much-needed support to the affected families," said President Zuma.
