President Jacob Zuma has declared a Special Official Funeral for the late struggle stalwart and Isithwalandwe/Seaparankoe of the African National Congress (ANC), Ms Ruth Mompati.
This category of a funeral is designated by the President of the Republic of South Africa for distinguished persons.
Ms Mompati was a gallant freedom fighter and a struggle stalwart who worked tirelessly for the freedom of the people of South Africa from an early age until she passed away on Tuesday, 12 May 2015.
All National Flags at all flag stations in the country will be flown at half-mast from today, 13 May 2015 until the day of the funeral.
The Presidency will communicate details of the funeral once they are finalised.
