President Jacob Zuma appoints Inter-Ministerial Committee on National Women’s Day 60th Anniversary

President Jacob Zuma has appointed an Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) on National Women’s Day marking the 60th anniversary of the historic women’s march to the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
 
The year 2016 marks 60 years since the women’s march to demand an end to the apartheid pass laws.
 
The IMC will therefore ensure the planning and success of this momentous occasion.
 
The members of the IMC comprise the following:
Minister in The Presidency for Women, Ms Susan Shabangu as Chairperson
Minister of Arts and Culture, Mr Nathi Mthethwa
Minister of Communications, Ms Faith Muthambi
Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula
Minister of Police, Mr Nathi Nhleko
Minister of Public Works, Mr Thulas Nxesi
Minister of Social Development, Ms Bathabile Dlamini
Minister of State Security, Mr David Mahlobo
Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies
Minister of Water and Sanitation, Ms Nomvula Mokonyane
Premier of Gauteng, Mr David Makhura, and
Executive Mayor of the City of Tshwane, Cllr Kgosientso Ramokgopa
